This company has been created to edit Vinoteka, the Wine software and Cellar Manager especially designed for the Mac. The genesis started in 2007 when I got some bottle of wine. I was not able to find a real wine software that fits the Mac look and feel. So I decided to write one for my personal use and after a couple of months, my wife Elodie decided to create a business named VinotekaSoft with Vinoteka as first public software.

Waiting for Apple iPod Touch/iPhone SDK...

Expected in february 2008, the most wanted SDK is coming soon... Fine, Apple hasn't yet provided any official release date, but we (developers) are waiting for it. But the race has already begun, many companies started working on applications using the unofficial API and have made some prototypes using jailbroken iPod Touch/iPhone. Why not, but there are still many questions about this SDK and how to use it. Rumors told us that new applications will be available on iTunes, it means that we have to provide the code and they will take a few bucks on the software price. The price should be limited too, but that looks weird... Anyway, we have to wait for this SDK and the official way to use it and sale software... just a few days before having the answers :-)

Apple leader technologique

Leopard Dev Talk in Prag

A few weeks ago, Apple has started a Leopard Dev Talk Tour in Europe to promote Leopard Developer Tools and Frameworks. This tour stopped in Prag yesterday, we were about 40 guys to be there. This session was quite like a WWDC session but compressed in a few hours, but the technical level was very good. Paul Burford has animated the major part of the session and to be honnest, he is one of the best speakers I have ever listened about Leopard software development. Another great news is that an iPhone Dev Talk Europe Tour seems to be planned when the iPhone/iPod Touch SDK will "be officially world wide "released in february 2008.

Contactizer Pro and Express 3.5 released

After a long time of development, Objective Decision has released the latest version of Contactizer Pro 3.5 and has introduced Contactizer Express 3.5.

Walter Mossberg, the Walt Street Technology Guru delivers a real end-user analysis of Ubuntu, the famous Linux distribution.

Instead of translating my french post, just have a look to the following analysis, which summarizes my thoughts:
Analysts: Safari browser makes iPod touch intriguing

Synchronize your Google Calendars

gSync is a small application (small frontend but huuuuuuge backend) which allows you to sync your Google Calendars with your iCal calendars using Sync Services.

http://blog.omnigroup.com/2007/07/03/omnifocus-and-iphone/

The iPhone has finally been revealed last Friday...it looks kind of nice, but don't expect me to write another article about it, I don't have any!!! Nevertheless, I have noticed that there are more and more articles online talking about compatible applications with the iPhone. Let's say it, it's nothing serious! Steve Jobs said that 2.0 websites (ajax) were actually applications so everybody has believed it. It's pretty amazing to see how Mac developers can only be simple followers somehow. As long as Apple is not gonna give developement kit for the iPhone, there WON'T be any compatible application. iPhone's marketing has been so well done that everything gets mixed up, seems to be the new trend...

As an example of this, the iPhone version by OmniFocus. As you know, OmniFocus is a task management application (in alpha) with a bit of the GTD concept (Get Things Done). On OmniGroup's blog, you can find a special version made for the iPhone:
http://blog.omnigroup.com/2007/07/03/omnifocus-and-iphone/
Sounds great, doesn't it? Right... There is NO task management for the iPhone (it's true...). However, don't forget that you need internet to access your data...hopefully, there's a StarBucks Coffee at every corner in the US, with an internet network to always be...online!

iPhone emails are no longer based on Yahoo! ?

Just have a look at Apple's web site http://www.apple.com/iphone/internet/?feature=feature02.
Sounds like a great news... but need more details about the mailboxes settings (size and file attachment size)

WWDC 2007 - BuzzzzPhone

The story of the missing iPhone continues... I was hoping to at least see an iPhone at the WWDC, but nothing came out. We have just had a conference about "How to create web sites designed for the iPhone", showed every single day of the conference again and again. It's now clear that the next winner of the Apple Design Awards will be a software that will help you create quickly websites dealing with the iPhone (480 x 320 pixels... thank you). So, we now need to wait until June 29th to get it, but remember to go to Apple Stores, which will sale the iPhone before AT&T stores (don't go waiting in the wrong line!!!). Some more waiting days and the iPhone will be analyzed and understood... the Contactizer Pro scanners have already been ready for quite a long time...

WWDC 2007 - Technical Overview
